Olympic Handball Ireland Release The 2026 Annual Report

Olympic Handball Ireland (OHI) has published its 2026 Annual Report, highlighting another year of strong growth across participation, schools development, club activity, governance, and international engagement.

The report reflects continued momentum for the sport nationwide, with significant progress in strengthening pathways from grassroots to performance level and expanding opportunities for players, coaches, and volunteers.

Highlights from the 2026 report include:

• Record school participation: Continued strong growth in the Schools Programme, with increased team entries and expanded regional reach across all provinces.
• Club development growth: New clubs established alongside strengthened existing structures, supporting a more sustainable national club network.
• International representation: Irish teams and club sides continued to compete internationally, gaining valuable experience on the European stage.
• Coach and referee development: Expanded education programmes supported increased numbers of qualified coaches and referees nationwide.
• Women in Sport progress: Continued investment in female participation, leadership, and officiating pathways across schools and clubs.
• Governance and strategic progress: Ongoing strengthening of organisational structures in line with Sport Ireland governance standards.
• Partnership growth: Continued collaboration with Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs), schools, and community stakeholders nationwide.

The report also outlines continued development across competitions, participation pathways, and long-term strategic planning for the sport in Ireland.
