School Handball Registrations Are Now Open for 2026/27! 🤾

Registrations are officially open for the 2026/27 Olympic Handball Ireland Primary and Secondary Schools competitions, and this year brings an exciting change.

A new Festival format for Primary Schools

For 2026/27, we’re introducing a brand-new Festival format, designed to give children more opportunities to play, compete and enjoy representing their school.

Teams will play multiple matches, with every result earning points:

Win = 3 | Draw = 2 | Loss = 1

The highest-ranked teams will progress through the new pathway:

Local / County Festival → Provincial Finals → All-Ireland Finals 🏆

OHI will manage the fixtures, schedules, results and refereeing, so teachers can focus on their teams and enjoy the day.

Secondary Schools are back too

The Secondary Schools Competition also returns for 2026/27, with teams competing at provincial level for a place in the All-Ireland Finals.

Places are limited across both competitions, so schools are encouraged to register early.
