Olympic Handball Ireland is thrilled to welcome Elaine Grant as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing with her an impressive career spanning sport development, performance strategy, and organisational leadership.

Elaine joins us from a background of leading high-impact sports programmes across Ireland, and will now focus on driving participation, building partnerships, and elevating Olympic Handball’s visibility both nationally and internationally.

Elaine brings a wealth of experience in sports leadership and a deep-rooted passion for advancing Irish sport at every level. Her proven track record includes developing world-class performance pathways, delivering inclusive participation programmes, and embedding robust governance structures—all of which position her as the ideal leader to guide Olympic Handball Ireland into its next phase of growth.

As CEO, Elaine will spearhead the strategic development of the organisation with a particular emphasis on:

  • Expanding participation nationwide,

  • Strengthening the performance pathway for elite athletes,

  • Growing membership through community, school, and club engagement,

  • Building strategic partnerships to support the sport’s long-term ambitions.

Elaine will work closely with the Board to build on recent progress, expand Olympic Handball Ireland’s reach, and inspire the next generation of players, coaches, and fans.
