Ireland to be represented at 5th EHF Scientific Conference

For the first time, an Irish representative will be presenting at the EHF Scientific Conference in Cologne (21st-22nd November 2019).

Dr. Martin O’Reilly, CEO of Output Sports and former member of the Irish National team, will be giving a number of sessions on athlete performance technology and long-term athlete development at this weekend’s conference. The company’s other co-founders include Julian Eberle, another former national team member, and Dr. Darragh Whelan.

O’Reilly’s first talk on Thursday will describe optimising S&C programmes for handball players with a focus on the development of power and strength endurance. Following this, he will provide a practical demonstration of such methods using the ‘Output // Capture’ technology. On Friday, his final presentation will discuss important aspects of long-term athlete development in handball.

Output Sports work with S&Cs and Physios to develop a scientifically driven, one-stop tool
for athlete performance optimisation. The technology has been co-developed with over 40 world-leading sports teams over the past 2 years and will launch in January 2020.

O’Reilly says,
“It is an honour to be invited by the EHF to Cologne to contribute to their 5th Scientific Conference. Athlete development, performance optimisation, handball and the Output technology are some of my strongest passions and interests so I am greatly looking forward to the forum.”
