Ladies Day In Ashbourne Community School

The latest event in the IOHA’s Women’s Handball Development Calendar has been announced.

Ahead of next months Women’s Handball event a  warm up event will take place in Ashbourne Community School on Saturday August 27th.

First up is an Open session for Irish girls aged 15 to 23*  and is open to new, former and current players.

So if you have been inspired by the action in Rio come on down between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m.

The Women’s Handball Development Committee have organised a series of events since May with the aim of increasing the number of girls/ladies playing handball in Ireland. Another target of the WHDC is “Project 2019” which aims to have Irish teams participating at EHF Euro tournaments at underage level. This has come about due to the changes within the EHF which were rubber stamped at the 2014 Congress in Dublin.

Following the ladies there will be a National Academy session for girls aged 12 to 14 with representatives from the Handball Coaches forum in attendance.
