IOHA Seeks Director Of Governance

The  Irish Olympic Handball Association which is the National Governing Body for the sport of handball in Ireland including the delivery of participation programmes, competitions & events.

The Board of the IOHA annually reviews the skill sets of its members in order to ensure a dynamic and effective committee. The Board   wishes to announce that there exists on the board a vacancy for the position of Director of Governance.

What does governance mean?
Governance refers to how an organisation is run, directed and controlled. Good governance means an organisation will design and put in place policies and procedures that will make sure the organisation runs effectively.

Type of role:             Appointed Independent Non Executive Director


Responsible to:       Chair and Board of Directors of the Irish Olympic Handball Association.


Some of the key functions of the Governance & Legal Director are:


  • To act as the Board Member with specific responsibility for the strategic oversight of the Governance & Legal Business Area for the IOHA including:
    • compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
    • compliance with public grant funding requirements
    • IOHA constitutional documents
