Germany Dominate Spain To Take Euro Gold

12 years after their 1 and only success at a EHF Euro tournament Germany are champions of Europe after a victory that was never in doubt from the first whistle over Spain.

The victory is even more remarkable as it comes 2 years after the Germans failed to even qualify for the last edition of the Euro’s and for the role call of players who had to remain at home due to injury.

In a game that would only have pleased the handball purist the men in white ran out victorious on a scoreline of 24:17 (10:6). Spain never had a chance and when they did have a sight of goal Andreas Wolff snuffed them out. Wolff finished the game with 16 saves.

Next stop for the Germans is Rio, not for a well deserved holiday but the Olympic Games, where they will want more gold!
