Germany and Spain Face Off For Euro Gold

After just over 2 weeks of intense competitive handball we are left with the final pairing to determine who will leave Krakow with Euro 2016 Gold.

Going into the tournament no one would have predicted a final between Germany and Spain, not with the likes of Denmark, France and the hosts Poland in the mix, but here we are.

Spain have gone quietly about their business while Germany have shrugged off an ever growing injury list to reach their first Euro final since 2004. Germany reaching the final makes up for the National team being in the doldrums for the last few years, indeed they failed to qualify for Euro 2014.

Both teams won’t have to worry about next years World Championships in France as both teams are directly qualified having reached today’s final, there is the added glory for the gold medalist and that is qualification for the extravaganza in Rio later this summer in the Olympic Games.

Will the experience of Spain tell against the youth of Germany?

We’ll just have to wait and see, tip off is 16.30 hrs Irish time.
