Expressions Of Interest From Secondary Schools Requested

The Irish Olympic Handball Association is seeking expressions of interest from Secondary Schools interested in representing Ireland at the International School Sport Federation (ISF) 2016 World Championships.
The ISF World Championships will take place in Rouen, France from 11/3-19/3 2016.
The IOHA has the opportunity to send one boys and one girl’s team.

Schools interested in participating at the ISF World Championships are invited to send a written request to the IOHA by September 19th, either by email to or to the Irish Olympic Handball Association, Irish Sports HQ, The National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
If there are numerous applications the IOHA intends to organise a playoff competition with the winning school(s) entitled to travel to France.
Composition of Teams and Rules for Participation

  • Only School teams may participate.
  • All students of the school team must have been enrolled at the same school since the beginning of the 2015/2016 school year.
  • All players must have been born in 1998/1999/2000. Older or younger players are not allowed.
  • Each team shall be composed of minimum 10 and maximum 14 players and minimum 2 and maximum 4 team officials among whom 1 must be a teacher.
  • All players must be full time students at the school that they are representing.
  • Schools will be liable for payment of transportation and participation fees.
