First Open Session For 2014 Women’s European Open Squad

The Irish Olympic Handball Association wish to announce that the first open session for potential members of the 2014 U-18 Women’s  European Open squad will take place on Sunday October 20th. The session will take place from 10.00 a.m. till 2.00 p.m. in Tallaght Sports Complex.

As previously announced the IOHA intends entering the European Open for the 1st time in 2014 and is looking to maximise the number of potential squad members.

The session is open to girls born in the years 1996/1997 and  previous experience of handball is not essential as the session will be used to identify athletes with the attributes and skills that can be transferred to handball.

The Coaching staff have identified girls who play Basketball, GAA and Rugby as potentially having the right mix of skills to play handball.

The European Open will take place from July 1st to July 4th 2014  in Partille, Sweden during the largest youth handball festival in Europe, the Partille Cup.
