U-17 Boys get ready for departure to Germany.
After months of preperation the Boys U-17 National team will depart for the IBOT tournament in Biberach in Germany on Tuesday April 7th.

The week long trip will include some training sessions with Guest German Coaches and 2 pre tournament friendlies vs TG Biberach and Bad Waldsee.

In the tournament itself Ireland will play Noeder-Rosen , Bodensee and Konstanz in the group stage before moving on the placement phase.

Training camp with the boys from TV Huettenburg
The Boys of the U-17 Irish National team recently took part in a joint training camp with the boys from TV Huettenburg in germany.

The venue for this training camp was Gormanstown College in Co. Meath on Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th of January.

Saturday consisted of 2 X 2hour training sessions, which concentrated on shooting technique and attack play.

Sunday consisted of a 2 hour training session involving concepts and defense.
This was then followed by a match between both squads .
 
The Irish Boys played well in the 1st half and only trailed 11-8 at the break.

In the 2nd half the experience of the german team showed and they ran out winners by 9 goals.

Irish Coach Michael Moloney was satisfied with the weekends work. "We knew coming into this weekend that this german team would prove a tough challenge for our boys and so it proved.I am very happy with their attitude in training and in the match. The boys know there are areas in which they have to improve. This weekend was another step in their developement as a team".
 
U-17 Coach announces appointment of new assistant.
Irish U-17 boys coach Michael Moloney has announced the appointment of Paul Gray as his assistant.

“I am delighted to announce that Paul has agreed to come on board. Paul is a great player and a veteran of 5 Challenge Trophy and 2 Tri-nations tournaments. I have played alongside him for most of those tournaments and could not ask for a better assistant.

His commitment to training and desire to win are qualities I’m sure he will pass on to the squad”

Paul will take up his position straightaway in time for this months training camp.
