The event is organised for Girls under 15 years in an effort to provide a handball event of their own.

The blitz involves girls from different Secondary schools meeting up and playing handball in a fun atmosphere and is part of the IOHA's commitment to providing a pathway of sport for young handballers and is part of the associations commitment to the ISC women in sport project .

 

Previously the Blitz was attended by girls from Balinteer CS, St. Pauls and hosts Colaiste de hIde.

 

At February's event new players from Old Bawn CS and St. Mac Dara's attended.

 

More good news was the announcement that 2 new schools Firhouse CC and Brookfield CS are interested in attending March's event.
