2nd Weekend Away Brings Better Results for Mens Team.

A second trip away in as many weeks saw the Irish Mens arrive in Lubeck, Germany.
This second weekend away saw a better showing from the boys even though they were still not at full strength but were determined to build on the previous trip to Belgium.

First up on Friday 16th of January was a match against 2nd division Bundesliga side Bad Schwartau.
This time as like in June of 2009 when Ireland last played them the hosts had a full squad to choose from and played some scintillating handball.
Ireland played some fantastic handball at times but were put to the sword with a final score of 43-20 to the Germans.

A Saturday morning training session was followed by a 2 hour drive to meet our friends from Gettorf handball club.
Ireland played their 3rd team and ran out winners by 30-22.

Determined to squeeze as much handball into the weekend the Irish team returned to Gettorf to play the clubs' Landesliga side and came away with a credible 37-37 draw.
The team were disappointed with the result as they felt a win was well within their grasp but some poor decisions at vital moments meant it was not to be.

The Irish Mens team would like to thank all those who made the Weekend possible and made it such a success.
