IOHA 2016-17 Primary Schools Championships Tip off
December 1st saw the start of the primary schools competition for Meath schools. The competition was held in Gormanston College. With 8 of the 9 schools in attendance on the day there was approximately 300 students and over 42 games played. The competition was very competitive with St. Pauls from Rathoath starting as the finished last year in the Leinster final. The leaders from the day are as follows:-
U11 Girls Skryne NS
U11 Boys Wilkinstown NS (only their second year in the competition)
U13 Girls Grp a St. Paul’s NS, Group B St. Ultans (new to the competition this year)
U13 boys Grp A Skryne NS, Group B St. Pauls NS
It is all still to play for and with Yellow Furze to enter the competition on our next day, who knows who will be heading up the leader board.
December 6th was the beginning of the 2016-17 season for Dublin schools. The schools travelled to Gormanston for the competition. It was another busy day of competition with 2 new schools participated, Loreto Dalkey and Kildare ETNS. The matches were all very well played with St. Olaf’s boys and girls putting their mark on the competition topping their groups at U13 level. New comers at U11 St. Attracta’s showed they were out to also make their mark.
