Senior Men’s League resumes after Christmas break

All eyes may be on Croatia this weekend with the start of the Men’s European Championships¬†http://cro2018.ehf-euro.com/home/¬†but in Ireland eyes will be on Loughlinstown this Sunday as the 2017-18 Senior Men’s League emerges from it’s mid winter slumber for the Christmas period.

Astra Handball Club will host Dublin Wings in the south Dublin derby and is a must win match for both teams if they are to secure a Final 4 semi final place. The home side are under the most pressure as they have yet to get a point on the board this season while Wings will want to get the points on the board ahead of tough trips to UCC, Dublin City and Dublin International.

The sides met earlier this season in Dublin City University in what was Wings debut league match with the Wings winning on a scoreline of  37-25. Astra have recruited a few additional players since that game and head coach, Andrea Ongaro will be looking for a positive result before departing to Croatia to attend the EHF Top Coaches Course.

Tip off in Loughlinstown on Sunday is 12.30 p.m.
