Handball at School, New Online Resource for Primary School Teachers

As one of the first international sports organizations, the International Handball Federation had launched the Handball at School project as worldwide training and education program for teachers at schools in 2011. Now, the project is taken to the next step by using modern teaching methods and latest technology: in cooperation with Neutron Games the IHF developed handball animations illustrating basic player movements, techniques and tactical aspects of the game.

The animations are mainly based on the content of the first Handball at School booklet, making the written text alive and better understandable for school teachers and youngsters. All animations can be found on the newly launched website www.handballatschool.com.
The videos show basic positions and movements in offence and defence, the basic movements of goalkeepers and basic aspects of tactics. All visualizations can be watched from different perspectives and additional detailed descriptions provide all the information needed to experience the fun and passion of the game. The videos are playable on Windows and Macintosh systems. For watching the videos you need a Windows Media Player, Quicktime or a VLC Player.
Interested teachers can also download an accompanying book for the courses in the download section of the website, which will offer practical assistance in giving attractive lessons.
This booklet offers detailed information about handball, a lot of interesting pictures and attractive exercises for your handball lessons. All educational material was produced and developed by the IHF working group “Handball at school”.
An introduction to “IHF Handball Challenge”, developed by Neutron Games, is also available on the Handball at School website. For more information please check the official game website www.handball-challenge.com.Handball@school
