IOHA Host National Academy Days


The 1st National Academy days of 2012 will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of March in Loughlinstown Sports Centre.

On both days the academy will from 11.00 till 15.00 hrs.

The National Academy is open to both boys and girls born in 1996 or 1997 who play handball in a club or in their school.

Present on the day will be some of the top club coaches in Ireland to put the players through their paces.

The National Academy¬† is a vital part in the IOHA’s player pathway from underage player to Senior National team player.

The National Academy weekends will also serve as trials for the Irish U-16 squads who will travel to Sweden in the Summer to represent Ireland in the Partille Cup.
The 2 week trip to Sweden will see the squads receive top class coaching as well as the opportunity to compete against teams from all over the world in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
This opportunity is part of the Olympic Development Program which is a joint venture between the International Handball Federation and the International Olympic Committee.
